The Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) is a worldwide discovery service for scholarly, peer-reviewed open-access books. At verification on August 28, 2026, its official homepage displayed more than 108,500 indexed books and stated that all DOAB services are free of charge and its data is freely available.

Readers can search by keyword or browse by subject, publisher, collection and language. DOAB is an index and access service rather than the publisher of every title, so a book’s download may be hosted by OAPEN, a university press or another authorized publisher platform.
