Neon Free Serverless Postgres Plan

Neon currently offers a Free plan for serverless Postgres aimed at learning, prototypes and early projects. Neon’s official November 2025 changelog increased the Free plan project allowance from 20 to 30 projects. Its official September 2025 update says each free project receives 100 CU-hours of monthly compute and 0.5 GB of storage, along with autoscaling, branching, read replicas, snapshots and instant restore features. These are usage allowances rather than a promise of unlimited database capacity, so projects can hit their own monthly compute or storage limits even when other projects in the account still have room. Neon’s serverless architecture can scale compute down when idle, helping conserve the free compute allocation. Because cloud plan limits can evolve, users should review the current Neon pricing page before deploying a workload that depends on a specific quota or feature.
