Matomo On-Premise Free Open-Source Web Analytics

Matomo currently states that Matomo On-Premise is free to download and will remain free to download for users who self-host the analytics platform on their own infrastructure. The official product page highlights data ownership, raw-data access, privacy controls, APIs and the ability to choose where analytics data is stored. Matomo’s FAQ clarifies that the core on-premise software has no license cost, but users need their own web server with PHP plus a MySQL or MariaDB database and must cover the infrastructure and maintenance themselves. Optional premium plugins, support packages and Matomo Cloud are separate paid products. For technical site owners, the free core can be attractive when self-hosting and data control matter more than a fully managed service.
