JetBrains' licensing FAQ, updated in January 2026, confirms that students and teachers can receive the JetBrains Student or Teacher Pack free of charge. The education pack includes IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate, ReSharper and the company's other IDEs and .NET tools covered by the educational program.

The free educational license cannot be used for commercial work. JetBrains also publishes current application routes for individual students, including an institutional email address, a qualifying ISIC/ITIC membership or authorization through a GitHub Student Developer Pack account. Eligibility and renewal remain subject to JetBrains' education-license rules.

JetBrains separately states that graduating students can receive a 40% graduation discount on a qualifying personal subscription for two years after the student license expires. DealVorio treats that as a related benefit rather than claiming the free educational license can be used commercially.
