Heroku Student Credits: $13 per Month for 24 Months

Heroku's official GitHub Student Developer Pack offer currently provides approved students with platform credits worth US$13 per month for 24 months, for a total stated value of US$312. The credits can be used on Heroku products such as Dynos, Heroku Postgres, and Heroku Key-Value Store, but Heroku says they do not apply to paid third-party add-ons.

The monthly credit is use-it-or-lose-it: unused value does not roll over to a later month. Heroku also explains that an approved allocation begins for the current calendar month, so applying near the beginning of a month can make it easier to use the full monthly allowance. Students should monitor the Billing area after approval to confirm that the credit allocation is active.

This benefit is best treated as a recurring platform credit rather than a blanket free Heroku plan. A small student project may fit within the monthly allowance, while larger workloads can exceed it and generate normal charges. Review resource pricing before provisioning services so the project stays within the intended budget.
