GitHub describes eligible organizations as registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits in the United States or equivalent organizations elsewhere, while excluding governmental, academic, commercial, and political entities under its current program rules. The benefit is applied after organization validation and is intended for the qualifying GitHub organization.
