Control Ultimate Edition Is Free to Play on Xbox Through August 30

Microsoft’s official Xbox Wire Free Play Days update for August 27, 2026 lists Control Ultimate Edition as a free-to-play weekend title for all Xbox members. The access window runs from August 27 through August 30, and the announcement explicitly says an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium or Essential membership is not required for Control Ultimate Edition during this Free Play Days event. Players can open the individual game listing on Xbox.com or browse the Free Play Days collection from the Xbox Store and sign in to install. This is temporary access rather than a permanent free copy: once the event ends, continued play requires ownership or another qualifying entitlement. Microsoft also notes that title availability and any purchase discounts can vary by region, so DealVorio does not claim a universal sale price or discount percentage.
