Starbucks Rewards US: Free Membership with Stars and Monthly Perks

Starbucks Rewards is free to join in the United States and now uses the Green, Gold and Reserve structure launched on March 10, 2026. New members begin at Green, earning one Star per eligible US dollar spent. Green benefits currently include a birthday reward on the member’s birthday, personalized offers, selected early-access opportunities and one Free Mod Monday per month for an eligible beverage customization. Starbucks also added a 60-Star reward worth $2 off an eligible purchase, alongside other redemption levels.

Higher status is earned through activity rather than a separate membership fee. Gold begins after 500 Stars in a 12-month period and Reserve after 2,500 Stars. Those levels earn Stars faster and include longer birthday-reward windows; Gold and Reserve Stars do not expire while the status rules are met. Green Stars normally have a six-month validity, although qualifying monthly activity can extend them. Availability, exclusions and participating-store rules apply, so members should confirm the current reward details in the Starbucks app before ordering.
