Queensland Translink: Flat 50-Cent Public Transport Fares Across the Network

Queensland Translink currently charges a flat 50-cent fare across all zones and covered modes on the Translink network. In South East Queensland, the 50-cent fare applies to Queensland Rail City Train services except Airtrain, buses except dedicated school buses, Brisbane City ferries and the Southern Moreton Bay Island Ferry, trams and on-demand services. Regional Translink urban buses in the areas listed by Translink also use the 50-cent fare. The official page says the same flat fare applies whether an eligible trip is paid with go card, credit/debit card or paper ticket, while regional buses can continue accepting their available ticketing methods including cash. Airtrain is explicitly excluded and charges its own fare. Existing percentage concession schemes generally do not reduce the 50-cent fare further, although separately eligible free-travel groups remain free under their own rules.
