OpenLearn: Hundreds of Free Open University Courses to Start Anytime

OpenLearn is The Open University’s free learning platform. The official free-courses catalogue says all OpenLearn courses are free to study and that hundreds of courses are available across nine subject areas. OpenLearn’s own guidance also says courses are available immediately, can be studied at your own pace, and that there are around 1,000 courses to choose from. Learners who create a free profile can track progress, and eligible completed courses can provide a free statement of participation; some courses also offer digital badges. These free courses do not carry formal academic credit, so learners should treat them as open learning and skills development rather than a degree qualification. To use the offer, browse the official catalogue, choose a course, and start studying. Creating an account is useful if you want progress tracking and completion records.
