Office 365 A1: Free Microsoft Education Plan for Eligible Students and Educators

Microsoft currently lists Office 365 A1 as a free donated education plan for eligible students and educators. The plan includes web-based versions of core Microsoft apps such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, with education access tied to a qualified institution. Microsoft's Education FAQ says students and educators with an eligible education email address can get the A1 plan free and can continue using the Education plan while they remain enrolled at, or employed by, a qualified educational organization; eligibility can be re-verified. This is not the same as a consumer Microsoft 365 subscription and does not imply every desktop feature is included. To check eligibility, visit Microsoft's Office 365 Education page, choose the free A1 path, provide the institutional education email requested by Microsoft, and complete the organization's eligibility and account process.
