Obsidian is free for personal and commercial use with no sign-up required

Obsidian currently makes its core note-taking application free to use without a required sign-up. The official pricing page describes the app as “free without limits” and says there are no strings attached. It also states that commercial users are not required to buy a Commercial license, although organizations are encouraged to purchase one to support development. Obsidian stores notes locally on the user’s device and does not require its paid services for ordinary use. Optional add-ons are separate: Obsidian Sync and Obsidian Publish are paid services, and the Catalyst and Commercial purchases are support options with their own pricing. No coupon code is required for the free core app. This DealVorio record covers the standard Obsidian application only and does not imply that Sync, Publish or other paid services are free.
