New Relic for Students: Free Expanded Observability Account

New Relic's current student program gives eligible learners a substantially expanded observability account at no charge. Official New Relic documentation lists 500 GB of data ingest per month, three Full Platform users, 10,000 synthetic checks per month, and access to the other features available to Standard Edition customers. This makes the offer useful for students learning monitoring, telemetry, DevOps, site reliability engineering, and application performance work on real projects.

GitHub Education is one of New Relic's supported verification routes. A student should first have a New Relic account, verify current student status through GitHub Education, then connect the GitHub Education benefit from the New Relic account's student-program area. Eligibility and re-verification requirements can change, so confirm the current student status shown during activation before relying on the expanded limits.

This is not a cash credit and it should not be compared with a generic paid plan solely by headline price. The practical value is the higher student usage allowance, multiple full users for collaboration, and access to observability features that can support coursework, portfolios, labs, and personal development projects.
