Office 365 A1 Education Free for Eligible Students and Educators

Microsoft’s official Education pricing page currently lists Office 365 A1 as free for eligible education use and says the plan is donated by Microsoft to qualifying institutions. A1 includes web-based versions of core Office apps such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, with education services provided according to the institution’s entitlement. Microsoft’s FAQ says educators and students with an eligible education email address can receive Office 365 A1 for free and may use the education plan while they remain enrolled at or employed by a qualified educational organization, subject to re-verification. When eligibility ends, Microsoft explains that associated services may stop or enter reduced-functionality modes. This is an institution-eligibility offer rather than a general retail discount.
