Malaysia Rapid Pelajar: Up to 50% Off Rapid KL Fares for Malaysian Students

MyRapid’s current Rapid Pelajar program provides Malaysian students with a personalised concession card offering up to 50% off regular cash fares across eligible Rapid KL services. Coverage includes LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT, Rapid KL buses and MRT feeder buses. Primary and secondary students qualify subject to the age rules published by MyRapid, while college and university students must renew yearly and provide an original student card plus a current student confirmation letter showing sufficient remaining study duration. MyRapid currently lists an RM15 application amount consisting of RM5 card price and RM10 purse value, and riders must maintain at least RM5 purse value for service use. The 50% fare discount does not apply to Park ’n Ride facilities. Current FAQs also state that new and renewal applications from 1 January 2026 are for Malaysian students, with limited transitional treatment for existing non-Malaysian cards issued earlier.
