GitHub Pages Free Static Site Hosting

GitHub Pages is GitHub's static-site publishing service for personal, organization and project sites. GitHub's current documentation says Pages is available for public repositories with GitHub Free and GitHub Free for organizations; publishing Pages from private repositories requires an eligible paid plan. Users can create a site from a new or existing repository and can publish from a configured source such as a branch or a GitHub Actions workflow. Pages also supports custom domains and HTTPS for published sites. This makes it useful for documentation, portfolios, open-source project pages and other static content. GitHub's usage limits and acceptable-use rules still apply, and Pages should not be treated as general application hosting for workloads that require server-side processing, private-repository publishing on Free, transaction-heavy ecommerce or other backend services.
