edX free audit track for most open courses

edX currently provides a free audit track for most open courses. According to the edX Help Center, audit learners can access course readings and video lectures, join discussion forums, complete available ungraded practice activities and review their progress without paying for the verified track. Audit access is temporary and normally lasts for the estimated course length shown on the course page. Graded assignments, exams and verified certificates are not included, and some products such as Boot Camps, Executive Education and certain other programs do not offer an audit option. Learners should look for the FREE enrollment option on an eligible course page, choose Continue rather than upgrading, and check that specific course's access window. This is a broad learning option rather than a promise that every edX course can be audited.
