Amtrak Student Discount: 15% Off Eligible US Train Travel for Ages 17–24

Amtrak currently offers a national student discount for passengers ages 17 through 24 who have valid student identification. The official offer provides 15% off the regular full adult rail fare when qualifying travel is purchased at least one day in advance. The discount may apply automatically when an eligible trip is selected, or travelers can enter code V814 in the Amtrak app. Amtrak limits the offer to Coach and Acela Business Class and excludes a published list of routes and connection services. Availability can also be limited during busy periods. The discount is not valid for bookings paid with Amtrak Guest Rewards Points or Points & Cash. Because fares, routes and schedules can change, travelers should reopen Amtrak’s official student page before booking and confirm that the selected train displays the discount.
