Air New Zealand Airpoints/Koru: Free Loyalty Membership and Rewards

Air New Zealand's standard loyalty programme is free to join. Current official pages describe the loyalty programme as Koru, beginning at Koru Bronze, while an official account page still explains that Airpoints membership is free and open to anyone. Members earn Airpoints on eligible flights and participating everyday partners, and can use available Airpoints for published rewards such as flights, upgrades, rental cars or items in the Airpoints Store. Status Points determine progress through the current Koru tiers.

This free loyalty account must not be confused with the separate paid Koru Club lounge-membership product that Air New Zealand also sells. Lounge access and other premium travel benefits generally depend on status, fare, route, alliance conditions or a paid product rather than basic enrollment. New Zealand-based members can use the free Shairpoints feature to combine Airpoints with up to nine family members or friends. Partner earn rates, reward availability and programme naming or transition rules should be confirmed before relying on a benefit.
